What is CVE-2013-4283?

A vulnerability exists in 389 Directory Server that allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service. By sending a specially crafted Distinguished Name (DN) in a MOD operation request, an attacker can trigger a server crash, affecting the availability of the service. This issue is particularly significant as it can be exploited without the need for authentication, making systems running affected versions susceptible to disruption.
