The close_connections function in the Sophos Web Appliance allows local users to exploit shell metacharacters in its second argument, leading to privilege escalation. This vulnerability affects versions prior to 3.7.9.1 and 3.8 prior to 3.8.1.1, potentially allowing unauthorized actions by local users.
