What is CVE-2014-0019?
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in socat versions 1.3.0.0 through 1.7.2.2 and 2.0.0-b1 through 2.0.0-b6. This flaw allows local users to induce a segmentation fault by providing a lengthy server name in the PROXY-CONNECT address within the command line. Such a scenario leading to denial of service can compromise the stability of the affected system, rendering it less reliable in handling requests.
