What is CVE-2014-0144?

QEMU versions prior to 2.0.0 contain vulnerabilities in their block drivers for CLOOP, QCOW2 version 2, and several other image formats. The lack of adequate input validation can lead to memory corruption and potentially allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on the host system with the same privileges as the QEMU process. This poses a significant risk for users operating virtualized environments using affected versions, necessitating prompt application of security patches.
