QEMU versions before 1.6.2 are susceptible to a flaw affecting the handling of disk image formats like QCOW2. This vulnerability arises from a potential logic error or mishandling of signed data types when creating QCOW2 snapshots, which can lead to the incorrect invocation of the update_refcount() routine. As a result, this can cause unexpected crashes in systems utilizing these versions of QEMU.
