What is CVE-2014-125121?

Array Networks vAPV and vxAG appliances exhibit a vulnerability that allows attackers with remote access to escalate their privileges. This issue is exacerbated by hardcoded SSH credentials and improper script permissions. Once an attacker gains initial access via the default login or hardcoded SSH private key, they can manipulate the vulnerable /ca/bin/monitor.sh script. This manipulation enables the execution of arbitrary commands with root privileges when triggered, potentially leading to complete system takeover.

Affected Version(s)

vAPV 8.3.2.17

vxAG 9.2.0.34

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
