What is CVE-2014-125124?

An unauthenticated remote command execution vulnerability exists in the Anyterm web interface of Pandora FMS, which listens on TCP port 8023. This vulnerability arises from the p parameter accepting unsanitized user input, allowing arbitrary command execution as the pandora user. Furthermore, specific versions (such as 4.1 and 5.0RC1) allow the pandora user to escalate privileges to root without a password, exploiting the artica user account configured to run sudo without authentication. This poses a significant risk as it can lead to a complete compromise of the system.

Affected Version(s)

Pandora FMS * <= 5.0RC1

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
