What is CVE-2014-1531?

A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the nsGenericHTMLElement::GetWidthHeightForImage function found in Mozilla's Firefox browser, Thunderbird email client, and SeaMonkey web application suite. This issue emerges when an imgLoader object is mishandled during image-resize operations, creating a potential vector for remote attackers to exploit. By manipulating this flaw, attackers could execute arbitrary code on the user's system or cause denial of service through heap memory corruption, making it imperative for users and organizations using these products to apply available security updates.
