What is CVE-2015-20128?

FooSun DotNetCMS versions 1.0 and 2.0 are susceptible to an SQL injection vulnerability that permits unauthenticated attackers to manipulate MSSQL queries. The flaw arises through the CityId parameter, allowing attackers to send specially crafted GET requests to /user/City_ajax.aspx. By using UNION SELECT payloads, these requests can concatenate unsanitized inputs into the sys_City query. This can lead to unauthorized information disclosure from the database, and evidence of exploitation was first detected by the Shadowserver Foundation in October 2023.

Affected Version(s)

DotNetCMS 1.0

DotNetCMS 2.0

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
