What is CVE-2015-6568?

Wolf CMS versions prior to 0.8.3.1 are susceptible to a file upload vulnerability that allows a registered user with upload access to change the file extension of uploaded images to '.php'. This flaw arises due to insufficient validation within the file manager component, particularly during the rename operation of files uploaded as JPEG images. An attacker could exploit this issue to execute arbitrary PHP code on the server, posing serious security risks to the application and its underlying infrastructure.

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
