What is CVE-2016-10129?

In libgit2 versions prior to 0.24.6 and the 0.25.x versions before 0.25.1, a vulnerability exists in the Git Smart Protocol support that allows remote attackers to induce a denial of service. This occurs due to a NULL pointer dereference resulting from an empty packet line being sent, potentially affecting service availability and functionality.
