Integer Overflow Vulnerability in libXpm Affects Multiple Platforms
CVE-2016-10164
9.8CRITICAL
What is CVE-2016-10164?
libXpm before version 3.5.12 contains multiple integer overflow vulnerabilities that occur when parsing XPM extensions on 64-bit systems. Attackers can exploit these flaws by crafting XPM files that manipulate the number of extensions or their concatenated lengths, leading to heap-based buffer overflows. This can result in a denial of service or potentially enable the execution of arbitrary code, posing significant security risks.
