Denial of Service Vulnerability in DBD::mysql Module by Perl
CVE-2016-1249
5.9MEDIUM
What is CVE-2016-1249?
The DBD::mysql module prior to version 4.039 allows attackers to exploit out-of-bounds read vulnerabilities when using server-side prepared statements. This can occur through carefully crafted SQL queries that include unaligned placeholder counts within WHERE conditions or output fields in SELECT expressions. Such exploitation can lead to denial of service, potentially disrupting service availability and affecting applications reliant on this database interface.
