What is CVE-2016-1480?
A vulnerability in the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) scanner of Cisco AsyncOS Software for Cisco Email Security Appliances (ESA) and Web Security Appliances (WSA) allows unauthenticated, remote attackers to circumvent established user filters. This issue impacts all software releases prior to the first fixed release when configured to use message or content filters for scanning incoming email attachments. To mitigate this risk, it is advised that users update to the latest patched version of the software.
