What is CVE-2016-1713?

The Vtiger CRM application experiences an unrestricted file upload vulnerability within the Settings_Vtiger_CompanyDetailsSave_Action class of CompanyDetailsSave.php. This flaw permits authenticated remote users to upload malicious files with executable extensions, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution. The vulnerability arises due to an incomplete fix for a previous vulnerability (CVE-2015-6000), which means that once a crafted image file is uploaded, it can be accessed directly through a specific file path, putting the application at risk.

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
