What is CVE-2016-2365?

A vulnerability exists in Pidgin's handling of the MXIT protocol, which can be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service. When specially crafted MXIT data is sent via a malicious server, it may result in a null pointer dereference. This flaw allows attackers intercepting network traffic to send invalid data, potentially leading to a crash of the Pidgin client.
