What is CVE-2016-2367?

An information leak vulnerability exists in the handling of the MXIT protocol within Pidgin, which may be exploited by sending specially crafted MXIT data through the server. This flaw can cause an out-of-bounds read, potentially resulting in a denial of service or an unauthorized exposure of sensitive data. An attacker could send an invalid size for an avatar, leading to unintended data access, especially if this avatar data is transmitted to another user.
