What is CVE-2016-2369?

A vulnerability exists in Pidgin that affects the handling of the MXIT protocol. When a specially crafted data packet starting with a NULL byte is received from a malicious server, it can lead to a denial of service condition. This vulnerability allows attackers to disrupt service by manipulating network traffic, specifically targeting the processing of MXIT messages.
