What is CVE-2016-2373?

A vulnerability exists in Pidgin's handling of the MXIT protocol, allowing specially crafted MXIT data sent via the server to potentially cause an out-of-bounds read. This flaw could be exploited by a malicious actor sending invalid mood data, thereby triggering instability and denial of service within the application.
