What is CVE-2016-2894?

IBM Spectrum Protect, earlier versions up to 6.3.2.6, 6.4.3.3, and 7.1.6, is susceptible to a vulnerability that allows local users to gain access to sensitive information from other users' accounts. This occurs by exploiting the symlink functionality during archive and retrieve actions, thereby compromising data confidentiality and integrity if proper security measures are not enforced.
