What is CVE-2016-4847?

A Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the 'site/search.php' file of OSSEC's Web UI prior to version 0.9. This flaw enables remote attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts or HTML by exploiting an unanchored regular expression. The vulnerability can potentially allow unauthorized actions or access to sensitive information, posing risks to users' security and privacy.
