What is CVE-2016-5217?
The extensions API in Google Chrome versions prior to 55.0.2883.75 for Mac, Windows, and Linux, and 55.0.2883.84 for Android, contains a flaw that allows remote attackers to potentially bypass site isolation protections. This vulnerability arises from improper access controls for privileged plugins, which can be exploited through a specially crafted HTML page. The flaw could enable attackers to manipulate DOM content, leading to unauthorized actions and data exposure.
