What is CVE-2016-5218?
The extensions API in Google Chrome prior to certain versions on Mac, Windows, Linux, and Android contains a flaw in handling navigation within PDF documents. This issue allows a remote attacker to exploit this vulnerability by using a specially crafted HTML page designed to include PDF data. As a result, the attacker can temporarily manipulate the contents of the Omnibox (URL bar) to display misleading information, potentially tricking users into believing they are visiting a legitimate site.
