Summary

Mozilla Firefox versions earlier than 48.0 and Firefox ESR versions prior to 45.3 are susceptible to a security vulnerability that enables user-assisted remote attackers to circumvent the Same Origin Policy. This flaw can be exploited by carefully placing a malicious crafted HTML document alongside a custom shortcut file within the same directory, allowing attackers to execute Universal XSS (UXSS) attacks or access arbitrary files, potentially compromising user privacy and security.
