What is CVE-2016-5640?
A directory traversal vulnerability exists in the cgi-bin/rftest.cgi component of Crestron AirMedia AM-100 devices. When the firmware is outdated (prior to version 1.4.0.13), this vulnerability allows remote attackers to manipulate the ATE_COMMAND parameter using '../' sequences. By exploiting this flaw, an attacker can potentially execute arbitrary commands on the device, leading to unauthorized access and control.
