Man-in-the-Middle Vulnerability in Crestron Electronics DM-TXRX-100-STR Devices
CVE-2016-5669
9.8CRITICAL
What is CVE-2016-5669?
Crestron Electronics DM-TXRX-100-STR devices running firmware before version 1.3039.00040 utilize a hardcoded X.509 certificate from an OpenSSL Test Certification Authority. This configuration exposes the devices to remote man-in-the-middle attacks, allowing malicious actors to compromise HTTPS sessions by exploiting the inherent trust in the hardcoded certificate. Users are encouraged to update their devices to mitigate this risk.
