Certificate Validation Bypass in GnuTLS Affected by Remote Attacks
CVE-2016-7444
7.5HIGH
Summary
The gnutls_ocsp_resp_check_crt function in GnuTLS versions prior to 3.4.15 and 3.5.x before 3.5.4 does not effectively verify the serial length of an OCSP response. This oversight could allow remote attackers to bypass intended certificate validation mechanisms, potentially exploiting trailing bytes left by gnutls_malloc to compromise the security of applications relying on this library.
