What is CVE-2016-8562?

A security flaw affects the SIMATIC CP 1543-1 and SIPLUS NET CP 1543-1, specifically versions prior to V2.0.28. Under particular circumstances, this vulnerability allows the writing of SNMP variables on port 161/udp that are intended to be read-only, which should only be configurable through the TIA-Portal. Manipulating these variables may lead to reduced system availability or even cause a denial-of-service situation, posing a significant risk to operations.
