What is CVE-2016-8864?
A vulnerability exists in ISC BIND versions prior to 9.9.9-P4, 9.10.4-P4, and 9.11.0-P1 which allows remote attackers to induce a denial of service through a crafted DNAME record in response to a recursive query. This can lead to an assertion failure and subsequent daemon crash, impacting the availability of services relying on affected BIND installations.
