What is CVE-2016-9147?

A vulnerability in ISC BIND allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service through an assertion failure and subsequent daemon exit. This can occur when the server processes a response that contains inconsistencies among DNSSEC-related resource record sets (RRsets), leading to server instability and potential downtime. Users of affected versions should apply available patches to mitigate this issue and maintain service availability.
