What is CVE-2016-9796?

The Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista 8770, versions 2.0 to 3.0, contains a vulnerability that exposes multiple ORBs interfaces, accessible via the GIOP protocol on TCP port 30024. This exposure allows an attacker to circumvent authentication controls and execute arbitrary commands on the server with system-level privileges.
