What is CVE-2017-11568?

FontForge version 20161012 is affected by a heap-based buffer over-read vulnerability in the PSCharStringToSplines function (located in psread.c). This flaw can be exploited by an attacker through the use of a specially crafted OpenType font (otf) file, potentially resulting in denial of service or allowing the execution of arbitrary code. Users are advised to upgrade to a patched version to mitigate this security risk.
