What is CVE-2017-12636?

Apache CouchDB allows administrative users to configure the database server via HTTP(S), which includes specifying paths for operating system-level binaries that CouchDB can execute. Affected versions are those prior to 1.7.0 and 2.x before 2.1.1.

Affected Version(s)

Apache CouchDB 1.2.0 to 1.6.1

Apache CouchDB 2.0.0 to 2.1.0

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
