What is CVE-2017-12940?

libunrar.a in UnRAR versions before 5.5.7 is susceptible to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the EncodeFileName::Decode call within the Archive::ReadHeader15 function. This flaw may allow attackers to read memory outside the intended buffer, potentially exposing sensitive information.
