What is CVE-2017-14227?

A vulnerability in the bson_iter_codewscope function of MongoDB's libbson version 1.7.0 has been identified, where an improper calculation of the length argument in bson_utf8_validate can be exploited by remote attackers. This exploitation may result in a denial of service, through a heap-based buffer over-read within the bson_utf8_validate process, impacting the stability and availability of services relying on this library.
