What is CVE-2017-15650?

A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in musl libc prior to version 1.1.17. This flaw arises from the dns_parse_callback function in network/lookup_name.c, which fails to properly limit the number of addresses processed from crafted DNS replies. As a result, an attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending an excessive number of A records in response to an AAAA query, potentially leading to memory corruption and arbitrary code execution.
