What is CVE-2017-15908?

In systemd versions 223 through 235, a potential Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists due to mishandling of DNS response records. An attacker can exploit this by sending a malformed DNS NSEC resource record to the dns_packet_read_type_window() function of the 'systemd-resolved' service, which may trigger an infinite loop. This can ultimately render the affected service inoperable, disrupting system functionalities that rely on DNS resolution.
