File Disclosure Vulnerability in TP-Link Devices
CVE-2017-16959

6.5MEDIUM

Key Information:

Vendor
Tp-link
Vendor
CVE Published:
27 November 2017

Summary

The locale functionality in the cgi-bin/luci interface on specific TP-Link router models permits remote authenticated users to exploit a vulnerability. By sending a specially crafted request, these users can confirm the presence of arbitrary files on the device. This is accomplished through a manipulation of the Accept-Language HTTP header, particularly within the context of the set_sysinfo and get_sysinfo functions located in the locale.lua file of the uhttpd service. This could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive information stored on the device.
