What is CVE-2017-17422?

A vulnerability in Quest NetVault Backup allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations. The issue arises from the improper validation of user-supplied strings within the NVBUBackup Get method requests, enabling attackers to construct malicious SQL queries that can compromise the underlying database. Significantly, this vulnerability does not require authentication for exploitation, posing a serious risk to affected systems.
