What is CVE-2017-17657?

This vulnerability in Quest NetVault Backup allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code due to insufficient validation of user-supplied strings in NVBUBackup TimeRange method requests. The flaw is especially critical as it does not require authentication, enabling attackers to exploit vulnerable installations and potentially gain access to the underlying database, thereby compromising sensitive information and systems.
