What is CVE-2017-18638?

The Graphite web application contains a vulnerability in the send_email function that exposes it to a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attack. This can allow an attacker to manipulate the web server into making requests to internal resources, potentially exposing sensitive data. Through this vulnerability, the attacker can exploit the system to send the response of the SSRF request embedded in an image file to an email address of their choosing, enabling unauthorized data exfiltration.
