What is CVE-2017-2330?
The Juniper Networks NorthStar Controller Application prior to version 2.1.0 Service Pack 1 is susceptible to a denial of service vulnerability that allows an unauthenticated local user to exploit the system through a fork bomb, also recognized as a rabbit virus or wabbit. This type of attack involves creating multiple processes that replicate uncontrollably, leading to the exhaustion of any available system resources and resulting in a denial of service. The system may become unresponsive until restarted, and ongoing attacks by an unauthorized user can cause persistent service disruptions.
