What is CVE-2017-2814?
A vulnerability exists in the image rendering functionality of Poppler version 0.53.0. This issue arises from a heap overflow triggered by specially crafted PDF files that can manipulate image resizing. When the resizing occurs post allocation, it leads to heap corruption, creating opportunities for attackers to execute arbitrary code. Malicious actors can exploit this vulnerability by delivering a crafted PDF that triggers the overflow, posing a significant risk to systems utilizing vulnerable versions of Poppler.
