What is CVE-2017-2818?

An exploitable heap overflow vulnerability exists in the image rendering functionality of Poppler 0.53.0. By crafting a specific PDF file, an attacker can trigger an excessively large number of color components during image processing, leading to heap corruption. This vulnerability allows an attacker to use a specially constructed PDF document to exploit the underlying heap, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or further compromise of the system.
