What is CVE-2017-2850?

The Foscam C1 Indoor HD camera firmware contains a vulnerability in its web management interface. This flaw allows attackers to inject arbitrary characters into the pureftpd.passwd file during a username change through specially crafted HTTP requests. As a result, chroot restrictions within the FTP server can be bypassed, leading to potential unauthorized access to the system. Users are advised to review their device settings and apply updates to mitigate this security risk.
