What is CVE-2017-7574?
Schneider Electric's SoMachine Basic 1.4 SP1 and Modicon TM221CE16R 1.3.3.3 have a hardcoded key vulnerability affecting project protection. This flaw utilizes a hardcoded encryption key for AES-CBC, allowing unauthorized users to decrypt protected XML project files. Despite requiring a password to access these files, the predictable key enables attackers to extract user passwords from decrypted data. As a result, compromised users may have their projects altered or misused without consent.
