What is CVE-2017-7982?

An integer overflow vulnerability exists in the plist_from_bin function of libplist before April 19, 2017, which can be exploited by remote attackers. By sending a specially crafted plist file, the vulnerability allows attackers to trigger a denial of service condition, resulting in heap-based buffer over-reads and application crashes. This flaw poses a significant risk to applications relying on libplist for processing plist files.
