What is CVE-2017-8073?

A vulnerability in the WeeChat IRC plugin allows for a remote crash of the application when a specially crafted filename is sent via DCC. The issue arises in the 'irc_ctcp_dcc_filename_without_quotes' function, which fails to handle input correctly during the quote removal process, leading to a buffer overflow. This flaw could be exploited by an attacker to disrupt service and potentially execute arbitrary code.
