Authentication Flaw in D-Link DCS-1100 and DCS-1130 Devices
CVE-2017-8417
8.8HIGH
Summary
An authentication bypass vulnerability exists in D-Link DCS-1100 and DCS-1130 devices, which allows attackers to communicate with the device without the proper authentication credentials. The mobile and desktop applications are able to send and receive data by using a custom version of base64 encoding, making it possible for an attacker to retrieve sensitive information, such as the device's password, by sending a single UDP packet. This issue is particularly concerning given that more than 100,000 units are reportedly in use, increasing the potential impact of exploit.
