What is CVE-2017-8836?

A Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability has been identified in the administrative interface of Peplink Balance devices. This issue impacts devices running firmware versions prior to 7.0.1-build2093, including Balance 305, 380, 580, 710, 1350, and 2500. Exploitation of this flaw could allow an attacker to execute unauthorized commands by tricking a logged-in user into visiting a malicious website. Such attacks could lead to unauthorized changes, including altering administrative credentials, thereby compromising the security of the affected devices.
